How it works

Under a minute from trip to checklist.

From the driver's seat: a phone on the dashboard mount shows a dated checklist while the car waits in the US–Mexico border line, and a golden retriever grins from the back seat in the rearview mirror

Why Kipper

“I moved from Bermuda to Atlanta at nine, with a German Shepherd, and I've been bringing pets back and forth ever since. Every time it was call and fax and run around, and even the vet wasn't sure which paper went where. Nobody should have that pain point.”

Questions

Plain answers.

Is Kipper a government site?
No. Kipper is a private company, not affiliated with any government. We're not a vet or a law firm. Every item on your checklist links to the official page it comes from, so you can read the rule yourself.
When were these rules last checked?
On October 30, 2026, against the official sources. We re-check them every week and show the checked-on date next to every line. If something changes before your trip, we tell you.
Cats too?
Yes. Dogs and cats, on every route. The rules differ: for example, cats entering Mexico need no certificate, while dogs do.
Do you cover service dogs?
Yes. Trained service dogs, the ones airlines must accept under the US Department of Transportation rule, are covered. Airlines may ask for the DOT Service Animal Air Transportation Form. Borders still require the normal import paperwork for a dog. Emotional support animals are treated as pets.
Driving across the border, not flying?
Covered. US ↔ Mexico by car has its own list, including the paperwork for your dog's return to the US.
What counts as one trip?
One destination, there and back. Barcelona for a week and home again is one trip, and so is the way out and the way back from Mexico. Several stops under the same rules, like Spain then France, still count as one trip; stops that need different paperwork, like Europe then the UK, count as two. Moving one way counts as one trip. Come home within 6 months for it to count as the same trip. Trips within the mainland US will be free.
Is anything charged today?
No. Kipper isn't open yet. Tapping the button puts you on the waitlist, and we'll email you first when we launch. The first 100 people get the founder's rate. Nothing is charged until you choose to buy.
Will the airline or the border let my pet through?
We can't promise that; nobody honest can. What we do is lay out every document they'll ask for, on the right dates, with the official source for each one, so you arrive prepared.
What do you do with my email?
One email when we open, replies if you write to us, and nothing else. Delete on request. See the privacy page.
